We are currently seeking donors to help sponsor the cash prizes for the winning ducks. There is no set amount for a donation. We have had donations as small as $5.00 and as large as $2,000. Any donation, large or small, would be greatly appreciated. With the help of individuals and merchants like you donating the prize money, Wimberley EMS will be able to keep the money that will be made by selling Duck tickets. This year WEMS plans to use the money that is donated to go toward paying for the remodel at the station needed to accomodate our additional personnel. Wimberley EMS is also interested in installing a rain water collection system at the EMS station if and when the funds are available. Wimberley EMS is a non-profit organization, which has been granted 501(C)(3) status through the Internal Revenue Service. With 13 full time paid paramedics, WEMS provides 24-hour ambulance service to the communities of Wimberley, Woodcreek and to the surrounding two hundred and twenty square miles of rural southwest Hays County. At this time we serve a population of approximately 12,000 to 13,000 people. The Duck Race is Wimberley EMS' main fundraiser and any assistance you could provide would be greatly appreciated. We know that this isn't a decision one makes lightly or on short notice and with the current economic situtation please know that we are very thankful for any contribution you are able to make.
